Re: Tire Information Thread
Has the 615k+ improved? Not since maybe a year ago? It was the 615 first (and wasn’t particularly good). Then it was the 615k (and it was better). Finally it was the 615k+. I think I posted about the tire previously... I put them on my 996TT almost a year ago and ran them at AMP with good results. ...

Re: Tire Information Thread
Translation? Some of the “serious business” autocrossers have grabbed their torches and pitchforks... they’re declaring that the 71R/Rival-S are perfectly reasonable as street tires but these are “too far”. I sorta get the objection as the Yok may be better/faster while wearing faster AND costing m...

Re: Tire Information Thread
Isnt The RS4 a new compound compared to the RS3? Ill likely just stick with the 71R since I thoroughly enjoyed them. Plus this https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=234 The RS4 is a new compound. On top of that, the RS3 was known for being super-sketchy in the wet and cold. That w...

No experience or even secondhand info on the Nankang... but Yokohama is re-releasing the A052 in 7/32nds thread depth and 200TW. Additional sizes from 14”-20” are also being released.

Re: Thursday Musings: 996TT or CTR?
While getting the oil changed in the Odyssey, I was able to look over a new 2019 CTR. In Dayton Ohio it was $35,700 with no other fees on the sticker. If your children require car seats, the CTR has anchor points for car seats on both passenger/ driver rear, which you don't see often in a car. Good...

Re: Thursday Musings: 996TT or CTR?
I'd imagine the linear power delivery would be better than the "hard hit" for track purposes or spirited driving as it wouldn't upset the balance of the car as much. My old STI was tuned to 22psi which came on hard and gave you that nice kick. It was great when you were going straight but...

Re: Suspension
GS-R rates are 200lbs/in front and 95lb/in in rear. TL and TSX are ~300lb/in front and ~150lbs/in rear for reference. Even the CTR is under 300lbs/in. I would stay under 450lb/in and under on a lowered street car with nice non extreme performance tires that will have a softer side wall to improve t...
