2001 PY USDM Integra Type-R (MD)

2001 PY USDM ITR
Location: Fulton, MD
Badge: 01-0507
VIN: Available upon request
Mileage: 165,000, Rebuilt Engine/Trans at 153,730
Title: Clean
Asking Price: $17.5K

I have owned this R since 2012. I was told the previous owner's father purchased the car new and kept it in the family until I purchased it (Rockville, MD). The car has never been modified beyond some recent suspension components (dampers, camber arms, bushings) because new OEM parts are no longer available. It pains me to sell, but I have no garage space for it. Mechanically, this R is in amazing condition; the engine and transmission alone are worth a lot of money. I am adamant that it goes to an owner who properly restore the body and respect it. I am not in a rush.

Engine and transmission (original, VIN matching) completely rebuilt in the summer of 2021, all OEM parts, meticulously done. All bolts and wear items replaced. List of OEM parts (and some build pictures) included in the link to the zip file below. Machine work was done by Precision Engine Machine Co. and assembly by a motorsports engineer (i.e., myself). OEM overbored pistons so there's no taper or out-of-roundness. Engine and transmission run butter smooth.

Suspension completely rebuilt in the Fall of 2023. Hardrace bushings, front/rear camber kit, Koni yellows, but otherwise kept all OEM. New rear OEM calipers and will include OEM parts to rebuild fronts when needed. Car handles incredibly well and balance is easily adjusted with damper adjustment.

Car needs body work; this is the next stage in the “restoration”. The previous owner was involved in a pile up (front and rear damage) long ago; hood, bumper, radiator support, fenders, inner wheel arch panel (passenger), rear quarter, bumper, hatch, and body panel were all replaced with DOT parts. Welds in some areas were not adequately coated/protected which has led to some rust in the rear quarter panel and in the front right panel near the ABS module. I have cut out the rust, painted edges with Rust Bullet, and sprayed with fluid film for the time being. I have a complete ITR rear left quarter panel that I will include. This work should not be hard for any competent body shop, but it should be done right or not at all.

Spare Parts:
Donor 98 CW ITR Rear Left Quarter
OEM Roof Strips, Windshield Trim, ITR Decals
Denso AC Compressor, Oil, Dryer
OEM Front Brake Pistons, Seals
Storage set of steelies with Michelin winter tires (old)
OEM Center Caps (flaking)
OEM Distributor (crank position sensor is intermittent)
I have many used parts lying around (factory radio, etc.) that I'm glad to include too

I apologize for the delay in responses to PM's. Life has been heavy these past few months and the car was in storage.

Car has been brought out of storage, and it is running & driving butter smooth – see video and pictures below.

There are a few serious potential buyers that I will reach out to. I expressed being divided about letting it go, but have decided to sell the car.

Have you had it on a frame machine or had it aligned? I'm curious if there is any fundamental damage from the impact years ago that wasn't properly repaired.

Can I get close up pictures of the frame rails in the front near where the radiator support bolts up on each side?

Similarly, can I get close up pictures of the rear trunk floor where the sheetmetal attaches to the bumper support from within the trunk?

From your description, only the doors retain the original VIN tags I assume. Is this correct?

Lastly, do you have confidence this vehicle could make a multi-state trip home or would transport be advised?

Chassis pickup points have been measured when originally purchased in 2012 and compared to factory measurements; all is within specs. Car was just aligned before put into storage. It drives perfectly fine and straight; the car has been driven – before storage – for the last 10-12 years and drives like any other ITR. As an experienced track driver, I would know if this chassis was not true. It handles wonderfully and is one of the best attributes of the ITR.

I will get pictures of the front and rear sections. I can assure you the rear is perfectly fine. The front portion of the frame rail (where it meets the radiator support) is slightly bent inwards from the collision. However, because this slight bend is so far forward it is has no affect on the passenger-side engine mounts and suspension pickup points; thus, the car is still "true".

As for the body, the driver fender, both doors, and both rear quarters have the original VIN's.

The car drives like a new ITR. It is perfectly safe to drive on a long road trip and in superb mechanical condition. There is no need for transport.

Thank you for the detailed answers.

I'm chatting with the other half this weekend and I'll see if I can butter her up for me taking a road trip :)

Anytime! I always want to be transparent about everything; after all, this is more than a car, it's a community.

haha that would be a great road trip from Utah ;) but unfortunately it is pending to another buyer. I will follow up with confirmation.
