That bar keepers friend is amazing stuff. Looks like great. At a price less than $3 . It's a must have for every Honda house, or any household actually.

Well not even the barkeepers was getting it cleaned up sufficiently, moved to wet sanding with 220 grit sand paper. Needs a few grades of polish now but (at least areas I could reach) should look all rightStin1 wrote:That bar keepers friend is amazing stuff. Looks like great. At a price less than $3 . Ok here it is after a bit of polishing. Far from perfect but a lot better than where it started.

Re: Dumb, Stubborn, and bound to end up penniless…….
Just read over your whole build thread, caR looks amazing man you've done a stellar job. I hope to see it at a future Type R Expo! I always wanted to the the JRSC setup, at one point a had a kit but never got around to installing it.
Dumb, Stubborn, and bound to end up penniless…….
So not a lot of progress the last few days. Mostly really tired after the push to get the motor in place. Also polishing the Comptech header was a beast in itself.
I’m starting to get my bearings again so focused a bit of energy at inventory of the JRSC kit and finalizing plans there. While I’ve become very attached to the idea of a stepper pulley to lift the boost to ~8psi, after an honest assessment of the situation I’ve decided to keep it up o the original 4psi to keep the kit and build 100% CARB legal for now.
The reasoning is that as an out of state car I’ll still need to pass a number of inspections to register in California. There’s no reason to jeopardize being able to drive the car and have to deal with bypassing the supercharger in a way that wouldn’t be noticeable.
The good news here is that now I’ve ordered the handful of hoses and fasteners the kit was missing yet, so very soon it will go on the car.
In the meantime and since the bumper is off I’m going to focus on completing items there to make sure it can be installed soon as well.
Like headlights:
After earlier adventures with rattle can clear I decided against spraying them. I wouldn’t get it a smooth as I wanted, and there’s the risk of adhesion. So I polished the lenses (500, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000) then used 3m rubbing compound. Finally they were treated to Collinite Marque.
Pictures post clean up and the low beam (morimoto 2stroke 2.0 bulb), running from my power supply.

Looks nice! I haven't done anything to my headlights except wax . My hatchback has some headlights I acquired in 2004ish and they were yellow. I used meguiars billet polish on them, and then regular wax. They aren't sharp clear like a new lense but I have never had to polish again.
