I took a prelude type sh shift boot for that ring and put it on a normal regular integra shift boot. I would assume it could be done on the red stitched one too?

the boot that stin posted the part number of with the chrome ring and black stitching is still available. I went and purchased one as soon as he gave me the part number. I plan on having the stitching redone to match the 97-98 knob..

dave if you look the part number 83414s02a50za up on ebay it says seller keenanhonda has 295 of these boots available at $27 shipped. it was $21 at oemacuraparts.com plus $13 S&H to me so I went with the ebay seller.

Yeah our SIR. That’s what I’m using and adding the stitches.

I also will be buying another and have the stitching replicated using Benny's pic . Thanks Benny ! I know its not the real thing but it is a close as I can get being discontinued. Hope that helps anyone else in the future. I only paid $20 plus tax for the boot and it arrived at Honda without shipping charges . My brother manages a shop so I get wholesale cost.

Is the boot long enough? Seems like the jdm one would be to short when swapping the rings. I originally planned to try the same route with the jdm boot. When I compared the two the chrome ring was pinned in place with a plastic pin. The jdm was held in (quite heavily I might add) with the red stitching. I know better than to pull on a thread. It will unravel and fray. So I dropped that plan. The other pic I posted in this thread it seems like the ring was swapped but his shifter appears to be a short shifter .

The LS/GSR shift boot was long enough to use the science of speed shift knob that required the use of that same ring. Not sure how low it sits compared to the ITR/EM1/Type SH shift knob. I need to find previous pictures of it and also compare the LS shift boot with my ITR one

Video I found on my youtube page, not sure if the length can be seen from the video.

Wow that thing is fancy. I saw the nsx also had the attachment but the boot didn't look compatible. Boot has stitching or not ? I saw the video and can't tell.

I bought the prelude type SS shift boot with the attachment attachment for that specific piece and put it on an integra ls/gsr boot. I've been tempted to try it on my red stitched boot. I think it will go high enough. The video was to show with the LS/GSR black boot that it sits high enough

Attached pics of my boot.
