OEM Manual antenna alternative

I've always hated the power antenna that comes with the integra. Up until recently my antenna was always working until this past week my mast failed, leaving it staying up instead of retracting down. Reading a few threads on what other Honda/Acura people do I considered many options like the following:
-S2000 Antenna
-Repair the Antenna Mast
-Full manual conversion

I looked at the s2000 antenna, but didn't really want to deal with that install and I never really liked the way it looked.

The next option was repairing the antenna mast. I actually bought the part to repair my antenna mast. Watching Eric the Car Guy's antenna video, I went out and bought a replacement antenna mast on ebay.

Here is the video and the DIY I used. In my case, since my Integra has been in Florida all its live, the antenna came off without a hitch. I probably could have just done this and continued on.

But I became curious if there were any hondas that used a manual antenna that could possibly fit my integra. And doing some research it appears some base model accord DXs from the early 90s used a manual antenna. Reading the following threads I found the part number: 08B41-SM4-100
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-acc ... n-2549448/

Took a gamble on buying one because even if my power antenna was working again, I still found it annoying and having a manual antenna means one less problem to worry about. The previous owner of my car actually had the dealer replace the complete assembly back in 2008, which was one of the reasons why I bought my car. Who usually replaces those things with another oem part?

A few pictures of the install:

I should have taken a comparison picture with the power antenna and manual units. There is a slight difference in where the stud/nut is at, but it does not have issues with the slot on integras as you can see from the picture below.

This was my first time changing the antenna, I was worried that the base felt loose, but realized you need to tighten that antenna nut tighter than hand tight. Now it sits nice and tight.

Thanks for sharing this!

My power antenna is still functional likely because someone installed a manual switch hidden in the pocket under the factory head unit. Eventually it will die though and I will do the manual antenna as well. Cheers
