The metal piece that mounts to bumper to hold in the corner lenses? YES! :o

I have the driver side, but looking for one for pass.
I should've said corner light bulb socket. The piece that twists into the corner light.

Maybe I missed it but where did you get the front control arms? Also, do spindles/knuckles tend to get bent too?

Front control arms was one of only OEM pieces I didnt have in my stock pile! I got Dorman performance series. This part in my opinion is a standard piece, I believe it is the same for all Integras.

New fuel pump installed
Installed used starter  (Didnt work, have to swap)
Exhaust hangers for axleback acquired
Door switches installed  /  (Driver window doesn't go down. Need to inspect)

The rear trailing arms were scavenged from this caR somewhere along the way, along with the ebrake cables. Rear calipers as well, obviously.

When I was starting to really gather parts for the resto of the '97 in 2016-2017, I literally got the last left side RTA... The right side was available for a little while following, so I was able to remove the original '97 RTA from #0012 and tuck them away for a rainy day...

A rainy day like today!!

I'm not sure what the hell I did with the hubs from the arms, but those are an easy replace. So for now the task was to get the '97 arms back in satisfactory order for getting mounted up. I cleaned them thoroughly, de-greased them and metal brushed them for quite a while to get em ready for paint. I dusted them with gloss black paint and let that dry well. Then took rubber undercoating and lightly and unevenly dusted the arms like they were from factory ON CAR.

**If you ordered a BNIB RTA from Honda, it does NOT have ANY undercoat on it. The undercoat was applied to the car as it was rolling on assembly line. So the uneven random covering and spraying was limited, hand done, and more targeted for the wheel wells than the arm itself. Hence the uneven, random amount covering.**

Once that part dried it was time to clean up the spindle/hub mount. Took a bunch of time taping everything out and got em all sprayed up. I'm super happy with how they came out, and I have minty set of ebrake cables on the way. Rear calipers will get a refresh as well. Obviously couldnt cover the 97.01.31 stamp on each arm ;)

With the '97 arms, you MUST use a '97 caliper bracket. The distance between the mounting holes is 3/8" difference from 98-01 RTA. (There is another thread on this) So I'm going to use the '97 caliper BRACKET, but a 98-01 NISSN caliper body. (The '97 is a Lucas caliper body, switched to NISSN 98+) Hoping to have all parts needed and ebrake cables mounted in by end of the week.

Awesome!!!

Which ECU are you running?

Did you put the engine together or was it a full longblock?

This engine thats in it right now is my pride and joy. I have had this motor in 5 different cars. Its a '96 spec JDM-R. Has NEVER been opened. I first had it in an EJ coupe Civic way back when. It is, for sure, one of the "freak" motors from the early years. So strong that I took it to Evans tuning and had it dyno'd. I had plans of getting the first S300 from Hondata as it was supposed to be the bee's knees (2010).

First pull cold made 188whp/128tq.

We did some tuning with the S300, and got it to 193whp/131tq. Evans was stumped. Was in total shock as he had just tuned a well built Skunk2 cam'd GSR right before I got there and he max'd at 183whp.... A "freak" motor, for sure.

Image

Mods were AEM-V2 Cold Air, Fujitsibo Header, Test Pipe, Apexi World Sport Exhaust, RC310cc Injectors, Hondata IM Gasket. At the time, it wasn't worth spending $7-800 for the Hondata for just a few whp. We put my stock JDM ecu back in and I left at 189whp / 128tq. Evans said I was the first person to come in for a tune and left without one and back on stock ECU.

My plans are eventually do a Turbo ITR. I can remember being 15-16 years old, yearning over an ITR. I would watch video after video on car websites and people on forums all night long. There was a video of a turbo, Black ITR, camera looked like it was low in passenger seat angled up at driver/cluster but didnt show much road.

He slows first, then slaps second and is fcuking GONE. Car sounds AMAZINGGGG. I watched that video prob 1,000 times or more. So, my plan is to take one of the other R motors I have in garage and slap a turbo on it and have some serious fun.

BUT, to answer your question, once and for all....

It would NOt start on the JDM ecu for some reason. ECU wouldnt sent spark through the coil. I was getting spark at the ICM, and even a pulse on the - post of the coil, but it would NOT output spark to the coil spring and into the motor.... Spent a lot more time than I wish I did on chasing this down but, as soon as I put in a stock USDM 97R ECU, she fired right up. <3

So, for now, A02 97R ECU.

So as you can see in the first picture of this thread, there were no RTA on the caR. The seller got it rolling with a 4 lug Civic rear setup to get it home, so finally it was time to make the swap. Also now that the caR is running, It was a bit easier to turn it around on the lift.

Out with the old.....

In with the new!! Looking good! I have some mismatched, and old bolts that I'm not happy with. So I got all new hardware for the rear suspension. Should be here in a few days and I can get it all swapped out and cleaned up. BUT.... Ooomph. Looking good under there now with that shiny hub and RTA.

New RTA/Lower control arm hardware all incoming
New rear brake hose lines incoming
Radiator incoming
Spark plugs and oil change soon
I also need to do the CKF trick wiring so CEL goes away. (I did it the right way and got all the parts for all the sensors to read on my '97, but for this one it's easier and cheaper to do the wiring jump)
