The new CTR should be revealed soon. Here's a press video making the rounds online and on social media.

To any young ITRCA members...
Now is your time and the CTR is your car.
Not all dealerships markup the price. I found one and I don't have any affiliation, with them.
You can call and verify the price, at Mungenast Honda South County Saint Louis Missouri.

Great share, this was the first I've seen this clip. I liked the video, quality hype video.

What about "old" Type R Club members? :D

I've considered multiple times over the years to buy an FK8. I came close a few times last year (across states as is common with Type R's purchasing), but I never managed to avoid a dealer markup- which I simply won't do. I paused any efforts once the supply chain took hold. I understand it's a different scenario now with dealers having handfuls of new cars arriving each month.

Thanks for sharing. I'd much rather support a quality dealership that is thinking long-term over short-term gains and burning a potential repeat customer.

Car and Driver review of the clip:

...Honda still hasn't shared many details on the new car's powertrain, though we'll get more information soon. We expect the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with tweaks that will help it produce slightly more than the current 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The best news is that Honda confirmed that a six-speed manual will remain standard (#SavetheManuals). A dual-clutch automatic transmission, a first for the Type R, could also be offered...

Honda wrote: Fresh from testing at the Suzuka Circuit, the all-new Honda Civic Type R made its first public appearance in prototype at the Tokyo Auto Salon, Japan's premiere high-performance and custom car show. Wearing a special camouflage designed exclusively for Type R, the prototype is featured in a new action-packed test-driving video, so TAS visitors can go behind the scenes with Honda engineers and experience the development of Type R. The best performing Civic Type R ever will be officially unveiled this year. #HondaCivic #TypeR

I thought when they said the new CTR will be "revealed" at Tokyo Auto Salon it would be without the testing camo. I think Honda meant that it would be revealed "in person".

I agree with your point, this does strike me as odd. I wonder if there is another large auto show they are saving the CTR for or whether this means Honda is still finalizing exterior details. Now I'm reminded of when Honda unveiled the new NSX at Mid-Ohio for their home Indy Car race, despite the car being ~1-2yrs from being released.

I remember the NSX unveiling. May have received a tip on which trailer it was hiding in to get a glimpse before the parade lap. :P My memory is fading a bit, but I think the driver was one of the Robinson brothers maybe? Also, it was a modded up J series engine for that day.

....

I can ask around about CTR info.

Notice the different rear wing mounts. I wonder if the red test mule's rear wing mounts will be more representative of the production version.

After looking at this shot, I see large front (brake/intercooler/etc.) vents potentially underneath the wrap in the TAS photos above.
