The greater markets are silly IMHO. Driver's cars, hobbies, housing markets, etc. This car is an example. Macro aside...

My opinion, the interior does not speak to 14k. Wear on door panels and seats, fading, etc. This car has at least set outside for long periods but the door panels and side bolsters indicate driver wear more than the stated mileage.

Given the recent auction popularity with these cars, macroeconomics above, it is foreseeable certain sellers will (maliciously) forge items like mileage. Just looking at the gauge cluster, one could:
-Swap gauge clusters, something I've done in the past, for an UKDM cluster in my old GS-R. Difficult is 1/3
-Dissect a gauge cluster, Ex: to keep a USDM speedometer in a JDM cluster (something I've done), which enables access to manually roll back an odometer. Difficulty 3/3 if done correct. Note, speedometer being off is a give away (but not 100% given tires.)
-Manually intersect electronics to odometer, preventing mileage accumulation, something I've seen in the wild in a PY DC2. Difficult 2/3
-Send gauge cluster off to have professionally adjusted. Difficult 1/3.

1: Swap gauge clusters, something I've done in the past, for an UKDM cluster in my old GS-R. Ex: Install JDM/UKDM/etc. gauge cluster for a time, save OEM, swap back to sell. Mileage on chassis will no longer match OEM guage cluster. Difficult is 1/3
2: Dissect a gauge cluster, Ex: to keep a USDM speedometer in a JDM cluster (something I've done), which enables access to manually roll back an odometer. Difficulty 3/3 if done correct. Note, speedometer being off is a give away (but not 100% given tires.)

5: Remove gauge cluster fuse. Difficultly 1/3

You could pull a fuse and the odometer won't turn. I think you also lose the whole gauge cluster functionality though.

A key item I forgot to mention, is the value in a vehicle's provenance. The car above has little known history versus a car with known history. This could be a longstanding car in the Type R community, trusted seller, series of DMV updates with mileage, matching VIN stickers, etc.

As with any car, a buyer should educate themself first and do their due diligence when purchasing- especially when buying a bubble car for "investment" reasons.
