Correct, tentatively plan for Q3 2022, but once the contract is signed, we will officially announce dates. I hope to see you make it out again. I've enjoyed following your build thread and I look forward to catching up at Expo.

I'm curious as to how many people signed up to drive.

Not enough. Money talks. It was not the only factor though. There were many headwinds, and at some point, you cannot keep pushing against them and succeed. COVID, short notice window, etc...
We discussed the postponement option with the track, sponsors, supporters, and some of the community overall. It made sense, even if it was bittersweet.
On the positive side, this gives everyone a full year to prepare. That allows everyone a chance to attend, which was important to us.

I understand.
Just yesterday I ordered myself a bunch of Honda and Civic Type R SWAG, mostly to keep for the long run.

I'm likely going back to YSU for a BSCS degree by next fall.
Till then I'll be looking over the computer related course work to see how far behind I am/might be wrt the youngsters nowadays and determine what I need to do to "catch up". That is to say ... I might have classes at that point. Ed

Plenty of computer nerds within this community, some with mainframe experience, others leading teams writing modern apps, database admins, and sysadmins. We can all chime in to any questions via the IT Thread.

Thanks Ryan, not that it's directly relevant but I did Fortran in high school on punch cards, and as part of my BEEE @ YSU did microcomputer programming on the 8080 and 8085 CPUs of the time (and at that time they were still using 8" floppies for the circuit emulator program SPICE).

However, that was 30+ to ~40 years ago.
IMHO I was actually pretty good at it, but a lot of time has passed and my Patent Office experience (I do have a Patent Agent Reg. No. for the Patent Bar) doesn't transfer much to work outside of IP (Intellectual Property). HAHA " IT" "IP" !! ; )

Going back to "school" should open up some different avenues for interesting stuff to do should I choose to go back to work, and even broaden my opportunities if I decide to go back into patent prosecution as a patent agent (I'm not an atty.)

Plus, I've also got nearly 30 years of experience examining vehicle control system applications (should I stay in an automotive related field).
BTW after leaving the "Office" I'm technically barred from working in the same field that I'd examined for 2 years after leaving/retiring (and for 1 year as a patent agent otherwise). Presently my Reg. No. of 56,081 is listed as Admin. Inactive.
In the mean time I get to play with '17 CTR which has FlashPro running on the in-car display as well as CAN bus data logging to go with the 3 bullet camera AiM SmartyCam system.

Not to mention that Nelson Ledges is ~45 min. away, Pitt Race ~35 min. away and Mid-Ohio ~ 2.5 hrs. with traffic.

Man, I wonder how many people know what Fortran is...

Zyg, did you learn Multiplan back then as well?

No, still haven't even needed to use an excel spreadsheet all these years (I tend to just write stuff down myself for a better visual understanding, but that may be just because it was easier at the time).

I did have HP 67 and 97 programmable calculators for the EE work in school.

P.S. Will be doing the Track Night @ VIR on 8/20 to stress test the CTR
