After researching HPDE overheating issues and solutions, I've decided that there are a couple simple changes that might make a difference: Water Wetter and (to a lesser extent) engine oil. Temperature and humidity are starting to decline in Pittsburgh, so I probably won't know the impacts for a while unless I decide to take the car down to Sebring in the Spring. If the high heat issues are resolved, I'll move down to 18" wheels and tires to keep the durable costs in check.

More involved solutions that I've read about, but shouldn't be difficult to do, are adding a larger radiator and oil cooler. There are still not a lot of aftermarket choices and only a few people posting their HPDE data.

I may forgo touching the engine bay and run the heater at full blast with some air duct extensions on the floor heater vents that route the heat way from the driver's feet. Not my first choice, but this should keep the water/oil temperature in check without burning my ankles as long the parts don't interfere with the pedals. I'll need to figure out a safe clamping mechanism that will hold firm and be easy to remove.

Dave is looking into getting a Camaro 1SS with the track pack due to similar issues (in addition to differential cooling) with his Focus RS.

Once things settle down at work and I'm motivated enough, I'll see about getting in one more track day before the venues close.
It doesn’t look like a larger radiator will be a real fix.
Apparently Honda tested a larger radiator and that didn’t fix the heating issue.

I think a lot of air is blocked by the black piece (near the front emblem.

Is there confirmation of an OEM oil temp sensor that can be accessed or is an aftermarket sensor needed?

Unfortunately no OEM oil temp sensor. Just an OEM water temp sensor.

Lol. Well I'm mainly referring to the black fake vent/inlets around the fog lights on the front end. They should put some real vents there and maybe it will help solve the problem! If the CTR could talk, I bet it'd be pissed that it has those fake vents. And the ones on the back too.

Went out in my last session on track with ~ 1/4 - 1/3rd of a tank of fuel, and a few laps in I'd thrown a check engine light
with a couple of main dash display messages ( 1) and 2) below.
Greg in the red CTR at Mid-Ohio was able to successfully reset the only trouble code of P0035 ... Turbo Charger Bypass Valve Control Circuit High, visually checked wiring/plug.

About 30 miles down the road/highway the CEL and warnings came back up during cruising w/traffic @ 70, displaying CEL and:
1) Rev Match System Problem
2) Emissions System Problem

Do not have an OBD reader/tester yet (suggestions welcome) so have not checked to see if the same code P0035 has come up with the same above two warnings.
Would like to have any available info before taking it to the dealer for a scan, etc.

The rev match and emissions error are caused by a loose engine harness. It’s documented on Civicx.com. The official fix is to replace the harness with a newer one.
