The Rusty Barnacle Restoration - 98-0111

Post by 95_Integra » Mon Feb 25, 2019 1:16 pm

Just got the ITR to my house in Nov, starting the major overhaul next week, so the "good" videos will be coming shortly. Thought some of you might want to follow - likely only doing videos as its already a ton of work!

Wow GL that’s a lot of work ahead.

Do you have a strategy in mind for dealing with the rust?

How are the rear toe arms? I don’t think my shell had quite as much rust but the rear toe adjustment bolts were frozen and I had to cut the bolts and cut the captured nuts out of the frame. I have a parts Integra I had to pull replacements from since those nuts aren’t some things I’ve seen a replacement for, could probably drill and rethread though.

Was this the infamous rusty ITR that showed up on many auctions or was that a 97?

That was a 97. It eventually was stolen and last I saw it was for sale on iaai in Denver.

Good luck with the work. Subscribed when you posted the link on the ITR owners fb page. Rust is never fun to deal with.

In for the progress. As I said on the other site, please don't sit on the car. Pretty please.

Awesome! I always respect those who rebuild back to life. Thank you for sharing, I look forward to updates.

Take quality pictures when possible. I plan to do another Type R Calendar one day that highlights rebuilds.

What a relief to see others restoring, and then also documenting it. I told my wife when I found your channel, this is better than a new Netflix series release! Subscribed.
