Window Switch Replacement
Does anyone know if they make an aftermarket replacement for the driver side door window switch? The switch for the driver side window is popping up and you have to press it down for it to work, I think it is a common problem? I took it apart and it looks like the plastic that holds the button down has cracked.

Re: Window Switch Replacement
Any luck on a replacement? I'll glance through the shelves and see if I have any spare sets if that may help

Not trying to skirt advertisement requirements here, but this is a product that Golden Era Parts could reproduce if there is sufficient interest, just not sure if that interest exists.
I've dabbled in 3d printing for clips and nylon components, but 3D printed products do not meet the quality of an OEM part. To have it reproduced with injection molding, the costs of each little part would be insignificant, but the tooling costs would be in the $2-$4 thousand range, meaning that if only 500 sold over a 5 year period, the costs would be $8.00+ each. To make it worthwhile with engineering investments, etc. would mean the part would need to sell for $20-30, even though its a tiny piece.
Thoughts on if people would pay that?

Re: Window Switch Replacement
I was able to take a good unit apart and look it over.
Can you possibly share a photo of how yours failed? Was it one of these small arms that broke or something else?
Anyone else who has experienced this and knows what the failure mode is, your feedback would also be appreciated.

Re: Window Switch Replacement
The piece that failed is the support that the left side of the switch is held down. I was able to clean it up and gorilla glue the support, I then added some more gorilla glue between the side of the support and the case to give it more strength. It worked out really well and I now have a fully functioning switch.
This support is what breaks on most of the failed master switches I believe. I bought another switch off of FB marketplace and it ended up having the same failure. The support is part of the case of the switch and you would have to replicate the whole case which I think wouldn't be worth it.

Re: Window Switch Replacement
Thank you for the feedback. Has anyone else experienced this failure?
If the housing failed that would be cost prohibitive to reproduce, but if it was just the switch itself it would be reasonable.
One challenge is the screen printed "auto" on top of the switch. I'm sure it can be done but most are worn off by now.
