New Style Spoon Wheels help
New Style Spoon Wheels help
Gents,
Got the latest Spoon wheel in 16x7.5 ET 30
No granted car is in the air but just mounting the wheel it sticks pretty far out / way further than OEM or my Rota Slipstreams.
Also has tons of clearance to the spoon caliper. GoTuning (Spoon USA) told me these were the ITR spec wheels, but bit worried before I mount tires etc on these.
Any experience? I dont mind running the car slightly lower than OEM to get a bit a camber, but not planning on slamming the car.

+30 on a 7.5" wheel is really aggressive for the Integra. You'll definitely need to run a lot of negative camber and probably roll your fenders to clear the tires under compression. I have the Regamaster EVO 2s, which are 16x7 with +38 offset and they stick out slightly in the front and are pretty flush in the rear. Check out the "Tire Information Thread", page 20 for pictures. Sorry, I don't know how to link to pages

What is your appetite towards rolling fenders?

Don’t wanna roll
I think spoon usa made a mistake here
Gonna call them tomorrow and expect they will take these back - they aren’t the right ones for the car

Unfortunately, those are the only specs for our cars, aside from the 15x8 +35. You can view all of the SW388 wheels at spoonsports.jp . When ICB revived Desmond, Spoon also got the rights to reproduce their SW388 by Taneisya, in more aggressive sizes than the EVO 2. I wish they would have gone with more classic fitment like the OG versions.

Re: New Style Spoon Wheels help
A +30 is an aggressive offset. For example, the prior +32 runs of TE-37 15x8's required rolling fenders, which is why I championed a the successful +35 group buy, as they didn't require rolling.
The alternative is to adjust ride height & camber, but this will require trial and error. I hate to read this for you.

You are going to have to put like -3 degrees of camber all around to avoid rubbing and considering of the type of tires you are using too as some may run wider than their official measurement...

Great call out on the actual tire tread width. The measured width should be available on tire sites. I agree, it varies wildly. The OG tire info thread might offer some insights:

I previously tracked that metric, we could add again during a community update (ie seeking contributors) if desired/beneficial.
