Wet Paint - Savagegeese's 2023 Rally Red FL5 Unwrapped
1/2 hosts of the YT channel, Savagegeese, has picked up their new CTR and immediately dropped it off for paint protection. I like their style, as the car was brought over straight from the dealership and they asked the dealer not to perform a PPI, leaving the protectant film on. I did the same thing with my RS in 2016, minus the PPF & tint.

Work:
-Tint
-Paint correction
-PPF on front clip + mirrors
-Ceramic coating
I continue to swoon for (milano) red Type R's.

You beat me to it! I just watched this clip this morning and I wanted to share.Outrun wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 3:38 am Savagegeese just released this:

Overall, I want one. The big challenge will be Honda's entire brand line is associated with dealer's adding markup, where as the Type R brand has been plagued since the Integra Type R US introduction in '96.

After dealing with the wait to get an FK8, I will continue to be patient for the FL5. I went and looked at a few and all were 60k+. I do like it a lot more than the FK8. They look great in person. The seats are a nice improvement if you can believe that.

I hadn't heard about the seat improvements, nice. To confirm, still not heated?
Dealers continue to disappoint. I figure I'll let those rush in for the new release and I'll check for 2024 this fall. The supply chain hiccups from MFG's liked Honda, pausing production in 2020, has improved. I'm told everything from Honda is close to normal except for Accords & Civics.

I've never sat in an FK8 but the FL5 driver seat is snug and supportive. I would enjoy hot lapping in that seat.

My limited experience was at Type R Expos 18 East and 18 West in FK8's during the parade lap coordination. I was actually excited at Expo 18 East, as it was my first time sitting in one. They were so new at Type R Expo 17, I didn't dare ask to sit in one.

Still not heated. Maybe they are holding out for mid-model FL5 refresh?coolhandluke wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 3:29 pmI hadn't heard about the seat improvements, nice. To confirm, still not heated?

Good plan. In a couple of years, things will be different.

I'm reading two factors are impacting the availability of Civic/Accords:
*MFG's focusing on higher end models for higher revenue
*Other MFG's dropping sedans in favor of CUV/SUV's (see above) has reduced supply of sedans
